HARBORCREST INPATIENT RECOVERY PROGRAMS

Medical Detox/ Stabilization

HarborCrest believes that dependency on alcohol and drugs is a primary, chronic, and treatable disease that affects the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health of the individual. Furthermore, recovery from chemical dependency is a lifelong process and it is has been determined that during the initial phases of recovery that the longer an individual remains in a treatment process the more successful they will be.

If your initial inquiry process with our clinical staff has warranted an intake for medical detoxification or medical stabilization you will be notified of your admission date and time.

Upon intake appointment you will be assessed by the RN on staff (up to 2 hour process) and the final determination for placement at this level of care will be a multi-disciplinary decision between our medical and clinical staff.

During the first 24 hours of your admission our medical director will perform a complete history and physical that includes reviewing of labs or any additional screening that may be needed based on initial nursing assessment. Upon assessed symptoms that are common to alcohol or drug withdrawal the medical director and nursing staff work in conjunction with one and other to determine the best prescription of medication or care path that is needed on an individual basis.

Once our patients are medically stabilized and our out of danger of serious medical symptoms common to drug or alcohol withdrawal they are placed in stabilization to begin the intensive rehabilitation process. The intensive rehabilitation process can include additional inpatient days, partial hospitalization or referral to an intensive outpatient program in the area of the patient’s home or living situation. Again, these decisions are based on a multi-disciplinary approach that includes the patient and their current health, life circumstances, family situations, workplace issues and supportive environment.

If you have questions about our intensive services or would like to schedule a consult with one of our staff please feel free to contact us at (360) 533-8500 or toll-free at 1-877-346-8253.

Buprenorphine Program

We have much to offer you or a loved one in the area of recovery from opiate addiction. Addiction is a primary, chronic, progressive disease, and if untreated, can be fatal. This disease knows no boundaries when it comes to race, age, sex, religion, socio-economic background or non-religious background.

Until recently there were very limited options for opiate dependence. The Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA), signed by President Clinton, now, allows for qualified physicians to prescribe buprenorphine in an office setting.

Buprenorphine is a combination of a Schedule II narcotic and an opiate blocker. It has a ceiling effect, in that there is minimal mood-altering aspect to this medication and it aids in alleviating cravings so that the individual has an opportunity to participate in work, relationships and daily life again.

Our medical director is an accredited American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) physician and has been working in the field of addiction medicine for over 25 years. He is credentialed to provide buprenorphine as an alternative for long-term opiate dependency to those who meet the criteria for this medication. Buprenorphine is an approved medication for those who are involved with the Washington Health Professional Services.

For more information on this medication or the protocol for medical detoxification, please contact us for a free consultation at 360-533-8500 and ask to speak with the clinical supervisor or the intake manager.

HARBORCREST OUTPATIENT RECOVERY PROGRAMS

Chemical Dependency Assessment

DSM-IV TR describes substance dependency as a cluster of cognitive, behavioral and physiological symptoms indicating that the individual continues use of the substance despite significant substance related problems. There is a pattern of repeated self -administration that usually results in tolerance, withdrawal, and compulsive behaviors related to substance use.

A Chemical Dependency Assessment is to provide the patient; the patient’s family or others involved an objective assessment of his/her substance use.

The assessment will rule out or diagnose dependency and offer recommendations for placement in the most effective level of care. The assessment should also identify problems that may impact treatment success.

Conducted by a CDP/CDPT, HarborCrest Behavioral Health provides a personal (2 hour) diagnostic interview, where sufficient data is collected and documented to rule out or determine a diagnosis supported by DSM-IV TR criteria for substance abuse or dependence.

The results and recommendations are recorded in typed assessment format and provided to the patient or persons the patient releases this information to.

This assessment includes:
  • Determination of Dependency Diagnosis
  • Recommendation For Placement In The Most Effective Level Of Care
  • Problems That May Impair Treatment Success
If you have any questions about the Chemical Dependency Assessment, or any other HarborCrest programs, please contact us at 360-533-8500.
